Overview

As a participant in a Harmonica session, you’ll engage in a guided conversational survey to share your thoughts, answer questions, and contribute qualitative insights. This guide will help you get the most out of your participation.

Joining a session

1

Receive your invitation

You’ll receive a session link from the session creator. This may come as:
  • An email with a link
  • A shared link via messaging or other channels
  • A QR code you can scan
  • The link format will be: app.harmonica.chat/chat?s={sessionId}
2

Click the session link

Open the link in your web browser. The link will take you directly to the chat interface for the session.
3

Sign in or create an account

If you don’t already have a Harmonica account, you’ll be prompted to create one. If you have an account, simply sign in.
4

Fill out the pre-session form

Before starting the chat, you’ll be asked to fill out a form with:
  • Your name (optional, depending on session settings)
  • Your email (optional, depending on session settings)
  • Any custom questions the session creator has configured
5

Start your conversation

Once you’ve completed the form, you’ll enter the conversation interface where you can start your guided conversation.

Using the conversation interface

Once you’re in a session, you’ll see a conversation interface where you can engage in a guided conversational survey.

Starting a conversation

  • The conversation will typically begin with a greeting and may ask initial questions
  • You can start typing your responses in the input field
  • Press Enter or click Send to submit your message

What to expect

The conversation will:
  • Ask questions related to the session topic
  • Guide the discussion based on your responses
  • Gather your thoughts and qualitative insights
  • Help structure your contributions
Be honest and thoughtful in your responses. The AI is designed to help synthesize insights from all participants, so your authentic input is valuable.

Best practices

Be specific

Provide specific examples and details rather than vague responses. This helps generate more meaningful insights.

Take your time

There’s no rush. Take time to think through your responses and provide thoughtful contributions.

Ask questions

If something is unclear, feel free to ask for clarification during the conversation.

Be collaborative

Remember that your contributions are part of a larger conversation. Consider how your thoughts relate to the overall discussion.

Viewing session results

After the session, you may be able to view:
  • Summary: An overview of the key insights from all participants
  • Session recap: A detailed breakdown of the conversation
  • Responses: Your own contributions and those of other participants (if visibility settings allow)
The visibility of results depends on the settings chosen by the session creator. Some results may only be visible to the session creator.

Troubleshooting

  • Check the link: Make sure you’re using the correct invitation link
  • Sign in: Ensure you’re signed in to the correct Harmonica account
